Years ago I bought a book by Micheal Phillips called The Seven Laws Of Money. It was a very interesting book and one I have gone back to read several times. I keep looking back and re-reading the book and examining how the laws have panned out in my life. The interesting thing is even though the laws are true, there are other things that happen in life that interfere with practicing the laws. Like the price of the book $4.00 at the time. You could not buy this book new for that price today. Even in the information age when people have so much access to information. The information that has the most value today is very expensive. It really cost to have the right information that serves you in the right way now days.
To summarize this book it teaches that if you want to do something and are willing to seek out the resources you need to do it, the resources will come. What is implied here and is really true is that profit does not begin with money. Let me repeat that "profit does not begin with money". Most people and some of you reading this article are saying this man has lost his mind . Well let me assure you I haven't and you may agree with me after the next statement. Profit begins with time, how you use time determines weather you are profitable or not. The misuse of time is probably the biggest single reason people do not profit. One of the major ways this happens is by working on jobs that do not pay enough. The second reason is living above your means, that is to say not living the way we earn. I was watching soap opera today and two characters where talking about a change in lifestyle . One of the characters had taken up life in a small town working as a waitress under an assumed name and hiding her wealth. The dialog went something like this.
1st character: What have you learned since been poor?
2nd character: Well I have learned that I can only buy what I can afford, what working here will pay for.
1st character: What do you mean?
2nd
Character: Well if I don't have any money and I have a choice of going
to a movie which cost money or watching T.V which is free.
I watch T.V.
1st Character What else did you learn?
2nd Character: That I can be happy watching T.V.
Ask yourself can you be happy watching T.V while using the money you save to seed new opportunities. Are you willing to use your time watching T.V to work toward your success? It's that simple people who get and keep money spend there time wisely and there money even more wisely.
